Marbling is unlike any other form of print making. More akin to abstract painting, it’s a collaboration between the water and the marbler – the more you try to control the process, the less it does what you want. It's exciting, cathartic and always addictive.
After over a year, our in-person workshops are back! Join Marmor Paperie's founder Lucy McGrath at our South London studio to learn how to set up your marbling bath and prepare paper, tricks to for achieving perfect patterns and, most importantly, have fun creating 8-10 of your own beautiful papers.
We have done a thorough risk assessment and, in light of the continued risk of COVID-19, have reduced the class size to just 5 people, so you will get a very tailored and personal experience.
We have partnered with bookbinder and friend Amy Kitcherside of The Idle Bindery to bring you a full day of marbling and bookbinding.
As well as getting a complete introduction to marbling, you will then be guided through the process of using your marbled papers to make three books, giving you an introductory look at the traditional craft of bookbinding.
We are now offering our popular half-day Introduction to Marbling workshops fully online! You will need to download the conferencing software Zoom on your phone or laptop to participate.
